How to find the wifi password (Spectrum)
If you’re using Spectrum for your internet at home, I will show you how to quickly and easily find your Wi-Fi password. Even if you’re not familiar with technology, I will guide you step by step so you can get your devices online without any frustration.
I’ll explain the different methods I use: checking the label on my Spectrum router, using the Spectrum app, looking at devices that are already connected, and finding the password on routers with a small display.

I write down the password or view it in the Spectrum app to connect my devices.
1. Check the label on your Spectrum router
Most Spectrum routers have a sticker on the back or bottom that shows:
Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID)
Wi-Fi Password (Password, Wireless Key, or Network Key)
This is often the quickest way to find your password. I recommend writing it down so I don’t forget it.
2. Use the Spectrum app
With the Spectrum app (available for iOS and Android), I can:
See my Wi-Fi password
Change the password
Share Wi-Fi easily
This is especially helpful if the router label is hard to read or worn out.
3. Routers with a display
Some Spectrum routers have a small LCD screen showing the Wi-Fi password. I can navigate through the menu to find it if it’s not displayed directly.
4. Devices already connected
On Windows
I open Settings → Network & Internet → Wi-Fi → Network Properties
I can view the saved password
On Mac
I open Keychain Access, find my network, and reveal the password
On iPhone / iPad
Settings → Wi-Fi → Tap my network → Password (if using iCloud Keychain)
On Android
Settings → Network & Internet → Wi-Fi → Saved networks → View password
5. Reset your Spectrum router
If I cannot find my password:
I press the reset button on the back of the router
A new password will be created
⚠️ All devices will need to reconnect using the new password
Summary
1. check the router label
2. I use the Spectrum app
3. I look at routers with a display
4. I check a device already connected
5. I reset the router if necessary
